Langham Hall Stud is situated in 110 acres of one of the most beautiful areas of the Suffolk countryside. The Hamlet of Langham is surrounded by undulating arable fields and ancient woodlands, giving a perfect environment that benefits animal welfare.
Paddocks
There are 19 well-established grassland paddocks each secured by brand new fences and gates throughout the stud.
The layout and contours of each field are all different with excellent drainage so that they keep in good condition throughout the winter, yet being old meadow fields the quality of grass is sustained all through the hot summer months. Every field has had recently replaced fresh water supplies and troughs.
One of the many advantages of a long established stud is that the hedges and woodlands surrounding the paddocks provide excellent wind protection providing the horses with a natural shelter.
Being set on a traditional Suffolk estate, there is no noise pollution from roads or buildings overlooking the fields. The paddocks really do have a relaxing, tranquil feel to them, which reflects on the well being of the horses resident at Langham.
Main Stables and Foaling Yard
There are 22 large stables originally constructed in 1962 to the highest of standards. Constructed in wood and completely refurbished in the Summer 2006, these large warm, well-ventilated stables provide perfect accommodation for brood mares and resting racehorses.
Our stables are steam cleaned, disinfected with fresh deep straw beds laid after each horse.
Stable details: 16’x16’ with built in water troughs, feed and hay mangers. All stables in the main block have opening ventilation windows to the front and rear.

Foaling Boxes
In the centre of the main yard, there are two purpose built foaling boxes situated each side of the office and ‘sitting – up room’. These special facilities have an interlocking door to the sitting up room so that the necessary attention can be given when a mare is foaling with everything needed to assist close by. Both stables have rib blocked flooring to give stability to the soft straw bed and a new ceramic heater system to keep the foal warm immediately after it has been born. The two foaling boxes and one extra stable have brand new CCTV cameras in which can be viewed from the sitting up room and also from the Stud Grooms house, which is located close by to the main stable block.

New American Barn
In October 2008 we completed the construction of a new American Barn and Staff Welfare/Storage Facility. The barn consists of 14 partitioned boxes with sliding doors and external feeders. Each box is 12’x12’ and has ventilated windows, roof and double doors at each end. The barn has its own Vet/Wash Room and internal Feed Room.

Isolation
There are 5 Isolation boxes, which are accessed without going into the main yard with a woodland separating the isolation fields away from the larger paddocks which are used for the mares. These Isolation boxes are two blocks one of three stables and one of two stables.
Stable details: Three 14’x12’ and two 12’x12’ all recently refurbished.

Indoor Exercise Arena / Teasing Shed
An Indoor exercise arena is situated at one end of the main stable block, recently replaced with a new sand/fibre surface. This provides an ideal area for young stock, recovering horses or animals that are on limited exercise programs, to move about.
This building is also used when prepping foals and yearlings for the sales to get them used to being handled. In addition, this shed is used for teasing mares before travelling away from Langham for covering.

Horse Walker
There is a brand new 36 foot 5 Horse Walker which was installed in the Spring of 2007, this new facility allows us to design and carry out exercise programs for horses returning to training or to regain fitness after an injury or illness.

Exercise Track
An all weather woodchip exercise track 1 mile long, was laid in Spring 2007, giving the exercise option from the horse walker to in-hand gentle walks around the beautiful and tranquil stud land.
Vetinerary Room
A brand new vets room has been constructed within the main yard complex, complete with new Stocks specially designed and built by us. This facility with its walk-through layout has padded covered stocks, rubber flooring, hot water, power, extra lighting and medicine available to hand. This room, a converted stable, is also large enough to be used for washing down and bathing horses.

Transportation Service
We have two of our own Horse Box's, which are at the stud’s disposal at all times. The vehicles can take up to two horses at a time but generally would just travel with one and the partitions are easily changeable to transport a Mare and Foal.
We will offer to transport horses from and to the Newmarket area free of charge for customers with horses residing with us.
For safety reasons we keep a record of each transportation and the vehicles are steam cleaned and disinfected after each journey.
